Featured in the Michelin guide Chicago selection, Chef/Owner Gustavo Barahona and Beverage Director/GM Zak Sherman boast a dual-concept Japanese restaurant, serving hand-crafted cocktails, sakes, beers, and a world-class selection of whiskys.

Join us on the first floor for a cozy Izakaya, serving warm Japanese comfort food, or for a bold night on our second floor Omakase, where Chef Gustavo serves 15+ courses of fresh bites and inventive dishes, complimented with unique beverage pairings.

Located in Chicago’s Elston Corridor off the new Lincoln Yards Neighborhood - whether it's our Izakaya or Omakase, Hinoki Sushiko aims to bring guests the highest quality in celebration and honor of Japanese cuisine.

Two story Concept

We offer two distinct chef-driven dining experiences under one roof. On the first floor, a 50-seat izakaya-style lounge presents an upbeat, stylish atmosphere with a modern take on traditional Japanese comfort foods. Offerings are accompanied by Japanese-inspired craft Cocktail list and a selection of Sake.

Upstairs, a 40 person dining room and 8 seat sushi counter boasts a beautiful setting for large format Omakase. The dining experience is presented with particular reservation times for one of the largest flat-seating Omakase in Chicago. Strictly in Edomae style, employing traditional techniques such as aging, sujime, konbu jime, shio-jime, and smoking, come experience our team of skilled sushi chefs serve a 15 piece meal.
